'Play a little, learn a lot' is a YouTube channel created by Jane Fielding, a Portage Home Visitor from Bromley. Jane made a series of short play session videos when she was unable to visit families during the Covid-19 'lockdown' of 2020. This is what Jane told us at the NPA, she is keen to share this resource with Portage colleagues and any families who may find it helpful:-

 ‘ I have set up a YouTube channel of short play session videos for families to share with their children but also as a guide to parents/carers to give them ideas of simple play session they can try themselves at home or in a preschool setting. They aim to promote language and communication and shared play. I have also tried to incorporate the Portage principles and for each play sessions I have tried to show a variety of adaptations to the same activity to give children of all abilities a play option for their adults to try with them’
